ABOUT THE PRESIDENT...

Jeremy Treatman
PRESIDENT, SCHOLASTIC PLAY-BY-PLAY NETWORK

Jeremy Treatman started his broadcasting career in 1988 as news director of WNRK-AM in Newark, DE and then WCMC-AM in Wildwood, NJ. He has been on his own ever since broadcasting hundreds of high school and college football, basketball, girls basketball, and lacrosse games on dozens of radio stations (and now internet) in the Delaware Valley! In the mid-1990s, Scholastic Play-by-Play Network was incorporated and Jeremy was hired in 1994 by the Inquirer High School Sports Show (which appeared on Fox, NBC, CBS, and WB) as the lead reporter, a position he held for 7 years. Jeremy has broadcast games on Comcast SportsNet, Comcast Sports South, Fox, and CN8 since 2000. This year is his 7th as CN8's prime color analyst for high school basketball games. He served as football color analyst for 5 years and hosted his own show on ESPN 950-AM in 2005-2006.

In 1999, Scholastic Play-by-Play Classics were born and on January 2, 2000, the company produced its first showcase event, The Hometown Hoops Classic between Camden and Roman Catholic High Schools. Treatman served as the play-by-play announcer for the game on Comcast SportsNet. Nearly 10,000 people showed up at the event and another 100,000 watched on TV. Now in its 7th year of showcasing events, SPBPN has seen over 150,000 spectators attend 35 events in 10 different markets. The pinnacle came in 2002-2003 when 60,000 people saw 4 events that featured Lebron James and St. Vincent-St. Mary (OH).

In 2002, Treatman started Sports Broadcasting Camps. 71 kids attended a three-day workshop at Bryn Mawr College. Now the camp is in 9 cities and over 700 students are expected to attend this award-winning one-week program. Speakers from ESPN, Comcast Sports Net and from the professional and college coaching and playing ranks have taught at the camps. Finally, 2007 will be the fifth year for the annual High School Awards Banquet in Philadelphia. Over 1,200 people have attended the first 4 banquets. St. Joe’s basketball coach Phil Martelli has served as guest speaker.
